After the first season of Orange is the New Black premiered, it was unknown whether or not Laura Prepon would reprise her role of everyone’s favorite raven-haired, bespectacled lesbian Alex Vause — being that this whole Netflix television show was at the time a relatively new concept, Prepon opted not to sign on a series regular, if you’ll recall, and was only supposed to appear in one episode originally. After the first season was a hit it was renegotiated for her to appear in three more episodes, but her character was still clearly featured in a limited capacity.
Well, Laura Prepon fans can rejoice, because in a recent interview with Us Weekly (about Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’s baby, of all things), Prepon reveals that Alex Vause is going to be back in every single episode of season three. Yay!
“It sucked because [show creator] Jenji Kohan and I wanted me to be in [season two] more, but with the schedule, it didn’t happen,” she explained. “I was so bummed out. But I handled it, so I’m in every [episode] in season three. It is so good.”
I’m really curious as to how they’ll bring her back. As you may be aware, I’ve been periodically recapping Orange is the New Black, and other than a slip up of binging on episodes 4-6, I’ve been spacing them out so I haven’t seen how the season ends yet or in what way Alex Vause returns in season two. As far as I know, she’s been cleared and released and out of the drug running business, so they’d have to somehow find a way to incarcerate her again or just focus on her life outside of the prison. I guess in my perfect situation, Alex would somehow murder Larry and then land herself back in Litchfield. And then, ideally, murder Soso once back in Litchfield just for good measure. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
