Lifetime Ordered An ‘Omen’-Themed Drama From A Former ‘Walking Dead’ Showrunner. Lifetime.

Let’s say I sauntered up to you at a party and said “Hey, guess which cable network just ordered a series based on The Omen from former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara.” Once you got over what a tremendously weird way to approach someone that is, you’d probably tick off the usual suspects: your FXs, your AMCs, your premium cable options, etc. Maybe even Syfy. And I would just keep looking at you shaking my head no, over and over, until you made it all the way down to Lifetime on the list in your head. Even if it took an hour. It would be super awkward.

Point being…

The Lifetime revamp is written and executive produced by former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara. The series will follow the adult life of Damien Thorn, “the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.” [EW]

That’s right. Lifetime, a network best known for (1) cheesy made-for-TV movies about scandalous celebrities and/or scorned women, (2) that TV show where Jennifer Love Hewitt was a prostitute, and (3) whatever the hell was happening in Liz & Dick, just ordered a drama about the Antichrist from former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara. That’s happening.

Say it with me, everyone: Rob. Lowe. As. Damien.
