Season three of Lip Sync Battle is patiently waiting to whisk viewers away into more mime-friendly combat this fall and now there’s a new Jacko inspired preview selling you on what’s to come. The lengthy piece of promo wraps itself in the style of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” video with series fixtures LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen preparing to rumble. Included with the MJ homage are shots of the season three celebrity competitors tackling the song while done up like Jackson.
The choreography is lovely and all, but it really is the celebrity factor that provides the surreal thrills. Is your brain prepared for Jay Leno coming atcha in full “Beat It” regalia? Of course not. If we didn’t provide a warning, you might imagine you’re having the most baffling stroke imaginable. He’s not the only star featured, mind you. There’s also the aforementioned Kingsley, plus Laverne Cox, T.J. Miller, Don Cheadle and Lupita Nyong’o just to name a few. Please keep all of this Lip Sync Battle excitement in mind when elections are determined on the show in 2028.
The new season of Lip Sync Battle is set to premiere on October 12.
