Picking apart a list like The 29 Most Yellow Polos or The 49 Sexiest Sideboobs on Girls Who Were Born Between April-June 1987 is a fool’s game, and the same goes for dissecting a Rolling Stone ranking. When last we checked in with the music magazine, they were choosing the 50 Best Hip-Hop Albums of All-Time, and now they’re back with The 50 Funniest People Now, as opposed to five minutes ago, which c’mon, get with the times.

I’m sure we’ll 100% agree with everything they have to say. Here’s the full list:

OK. It’s not a bad list, I guess — there’s a nice mix of big-name acts, like Louis and Tina and Bill Murray and Larry David, and lesser known comedians, such as Maria Bamford, Dad Boner, Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster, and Tig Notaro. But there are some out-of-nowhere choices, too: Jerry Seinfeld, Howard Stern, and Bill Maher, because apparently it’s 1997, and, most noticeably, Charles Barkley, who is funny for a basketball analyst, sure, but that’s like saying the guy who can talk at an otherwise all-mute school is better at singing than his classmates.

No love for Community, Happy Endings, or Archer, either, but that’s OK: they’re gunning for that sideboobs list.
