Matthew McConaughey Tells Jimmy Kimmel About His Bloody Battle With Woody Harrelson

True Detective has so grabbed a hold of my mind grapes that I was actually taken aback when Matthew McConaughey smiled on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. “Wait, what is Rust Cohle doing…oh yeah.” It’s pretty much the only TV show I’m thinking about right now, and Kimmel clearly feels the same way because he actually began his chat with Mr. Alright Alright Alright not with Oscar chat, but friendly, fan service-y questions about McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s friendship versus Rust Cohle and Marty Hart’s animosity. (Jimmy Kimmel Live!: the only late-night show to mention Edtv before Dallas Buyers Club.)

What did we learn?

“[Woody] is a really fun ping pong player. I am pretty good, he is really good. He’s very competitive,” said the HBO star, who recalled how a few years ago they had a house rented in Hollywood and found themselves with 48 hours of nothing to do. About two hours later, the game had turned into ‘don’t let the ball stop'” he revealed. “So we’re dripping in sweat, I’ve got blood on me, he’s hitting a tree and running into stuff, there’s broken glass everywhere — but we never let the ball stop!” (Via)

Also, never get into a car with Woody Harrelson if he’s driving.
