Everyone Loved ‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown’s Moving And Tearful MTV Awards Acceptance Speech

Stranger Things was the surprise hit of last summer, but more specifically, Millie Bobby Brown’s nosebleed-heavy character Eleven stole the show. At only 13 years old, Brown’s intense role earned her a Screen Actors Guild nomination, but tonight, she won her first acting award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards. She was rightly thrilled and emotional. It also reinforces the fact that the ragtag bunch of troublemakers in Stranger Things really have developed one of those special “TV family bonds” that you see materialize every few years. Kind of like a creepy, synth-filled Freaks and Geeks family, but a family nonetheless.

Get a bunch of goofy kids to look at you like the guys from Stranger Things look at Millie Bobby Brown. You can tell that this crew is tight, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. She thanked her family, her second family, and the fact that she got the role of a lifetime to kick off her career as she wiped away tears:

“I want to thank the cast and crew for being my second family, you guys I love you.

I want to thank the Duffer Brothers because they’ve created a badass, female, iconic character that I’ve got the honor to play.”

My nose isn’t bleeding and I’m not crying! You are!

Just about everyone loved the fact that the newcomer won, and she solidified her winning over of every heart in the room with her emotional speech. Let’s go to the overwhelmingly positive tweets:

And here’s a picture of Millie geeking out over meeting Emma Watson just because it’s so damn heartwarming.

Now we wait for Stranger Things season 2…
