Last week, FOX officially picked up Minority Report to become a series. Based on the 2002 movie starring Tom Cruise, it ultimately received the approval of director Steven Spielberg, who will be credited as executive producer on the show.
Written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla), Minority Report takes place 10 years after the end of Pre-crime in Washington, DC. Stark Sands stars as one of the three Pre-cogs who yearns to lead a normal life, but is continually haunted by visions of the future. He eventually teams up with a detective played by Meagan Good, and a new futuristic crime procedural is born.
Minority Report is the first broadcast series order for Paramount’s rebooted television department. It will hopefully fill the network’s science-fiction void left empty by shows like Almost Human and Fringe.
