More Like 'House of Flayme,' Am I Right?

Last night, a four-alarm fire broke out at the 30-acre, 200,000-square foot Atlanta complex that houses Tyler Perry Studios. More than 100 firefighters responded to the call, and were able to put out the fire quickly, limiting the damage to just the exterior of one of the studio’s buildings. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze, which, according to one witness, reached a height of approximately six stories.

In a related story, the whole situation has inspired Tyler Perry to write a television series about a group of firefighters living in a downtown Atlanta firehouse. Titled “Firehouse,” the show will star Perry as Mike Firehouse, a former investment banker who joined the department after becoming frustrated by the startling lack of morality in his old profession. Now, with the help of some zany new co-workers, he’s finding out what really matters in life: friends, family, and large gatherings where home-cooked food is served and some man pretending to be a sassy older woman threatens physical violence against anyone who crosses her. It has already been picked up for 300 episodes, and will air 10-20 times a week from now until all of us are dead and in the ground.

TBS. Very funny.

Update: It has been brought to my attention that the stupid fake Tyler Perry show I came up with in this post is actually pretty similar to “House of Payne.” I have never seen that show, but please know that I find this hilarious.
