Move Over Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt Used To Be A Male Stripper, Too

For most of us, Chris Pratt will always be the lovable, oafish teddy bear Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, but he’s already shown us that he can also be a shredded ass-kicker when the right lead role in Marvel’s next sci-fi blockbuster franchise comes calling. But long before he was sharing meat tornados with Ron Swanson and teaming up with a talking raccoon and tree in Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt was apparently just like any other aspiring actor, taking random odd jobs to make ends meet.

And much like another young actor who recently broke out with a variety of starring roles (Channing Tatum, AKA C-Tates), Pratt also once took his clothes off and shook what his parents gave him as a male stripper. Well, sort of.

“I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid,” Pratt, who stars in DreamWorks’ new comedy Delivery Man, admitted to BuzzFeed in a recent interview. He worked several gigs when he was 18, including a bachelorette party, but by far the most memorable job was taking it all off for his friend’s grandmother’s birthday party.

“It was a surprise,” he said, laughing. “I don’t know how it got around to them, but they paid me $40. I was never like Magic Mike, you know. I did go one time and audition on a stage for a club, but I don’t think I got the job. I don’t think I’m a very good dancer.” (Via Buzzfeed)

Clearly, no one dances like C-Tates. But could this bit of news that came during an interview about Pratt’s new film, Delivery Man, help prove my theory that actors who were once male strippers always play the best dudes who save the world? Because I don’t feel like expanding on that, yes, yes it does. Case closed.

And for you ladies who are wondering what Pratt may have looked like as a male stripper, imagine him like this but naked.

You’re welcome.
