MTV has announced that it’s pulling the Punch Seen Round the Internet from “Jersey Shore” that was originally scheduled to air this Thursday. MTV would like us to know that it’s all our fault, and that we should be ashamed of ourselves:

“What happened to “Snooki” was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing,” MTV said in a statement Friday. “After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air “Snooki” being physically punched in next week’s episode.” [Us]

Why golly, MTV was merely trying to show us a tease of future episodes of its thoughtful documentary of modern Italian-American culture, but YOU jackals had to go and twist the meaning of it. HOW DARE people on the Internet demean the valuable lessons of “Jersey Shore.” MTV obviously intended the punch as the centerpiece to an hour-long lesson on the evils of drunken assault. Honestly, how do you sleep at night?

(By the way, I saw this news on TMZ on Saturday, but I waited until now because I wanted there to be no “Jersey Shore” posts on the Warming Glow homepage for once. It was a nice hour while it lasted.)
