Natalie Portman Helps Pete Davidson Take Another Swipe At Staten Island In Her Second ‘SNL’ Promo

Pete Davidson’s feelings about his hometown on Staten Island have been fodder on SNL and in interviews for a bit now. He got some attention in New York for saying that he hoped “a f*cking tidal Wave could take out Staten Island,” earning him several angry columns and lowering his status as Staten Island golden boy below Colin Jost. Davidson addressed the response during a recent appearance on SNL, saying he still hoped it fell into the sea, and now he’s got help from Natalie Portman to pour some more salt in the wound.

In her second promo for her hosting appearance on the show this Saturday, Portman, Davidson, and musical guest Dua Lipa discuss the trouble with those “early rises” at 2 pm and talk a bit about where they come from. That’s when Davidson drops his latest against Staten Island, and himself in the process. While Portman and Lipa are from normal and fine locales, Davidson makes it clear that his Staten origins make him “half seagull and half garbage.”

It’s enough to bring what looks like a legitimate chuckle from Portman and once again places Staten Island as the worst of New York.

The other segment just adds to the mystique that Davidson is a bit of a slacker as the youngest cast member on the show. That or he has no real concept of time.
