‘Luke Cage’ Star Says Netflix Has Already Cast Their Iron Fist

With the influx of Marvel properties making their way to Netflix, there’s been some confusion over how Iron Fist will join their ranks. While it was originally assumed to be a Netflix series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, there was also some speculation that it would be a Netflix Original film instead of the standard 13-episode series. While we know that he would eventually be meeting up with the rest of the Defenders for yet another Netflix series, how audiences would be introduced to Danny Rand is still a relative unknown. Hopefully he’ll make an appearance in some way by 2017, but Netflix is quickly becoming a very crowded landscape for Marvel content.

While this may all sound very discouraging for fans of the dragon puncher, there is some good news. In a recent interview with Collider, Luke Cage star Mike Coulter dropped a little hint for fans.

“The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I’ll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I’m in [his show], I don’t know, but there’s The Defenders.”

So, despite all the setbacks, at least fans have a little assurance that things really are moving forward, no matter how slowly. Marvel always plays things pretty close to the chest, but hopefully fans won’t have to wait long before the actor is announced. Who do you hope will be taking up the mantle?
