New ‘Luke Cage’ Pictures Show The Involvement Of A Familiar Marvel Face

After fans ate up the well-received Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the wait for Luke Cage, the third Defender Netflix series, seems to be forever long. Mike Colter’s Cage made quite the impression in Jessica Jones, so it’ll be great to see more of the unbreakable bartender in his own show. While we won’t see any new episodes until summer or fall of 2016, Marvel has released some new images to make the wait a little easier.

These images offer looks at a handful of characters, including Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple. Temple has turned up in both Daredevil and Jessica Jones, so here’s hoping that the intrepid nurse gets a substantial role in Cage.

The photos also give us our first look at Alfre Woodard’s big bad, Mariah Dillard, and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Knight offers our first link to the fourth Defender, Iron Fist, although details on that series are still nearly nonexistent. Still, these photos are a boon to impatient fans. There is little doubt that Luke Cage will build on the street level world building started by Daredevil and Jessica Jones, offering a gritty alternative to the patriotic super soldier and Iron Man suits of the MCU.
