Say ‘Oh, Hello’ To Nick Kroll And John Mulaney In An Animated Netflix Series

After learning that Pugs had to be an all-stairs production or no one was going to finance it, Nick Kroll and John Mulaney took their talents from Broadway to Netflix. It was announced today that the streaming giant picked up Big Mouth, an “edgy, surreal” animated series from Kroll and Family Guy writer Andrew Goldberg. The comedy is about two teens, Andrew (Mulaney) and Nick (Kroll), and their “adventures in puberty,” which also describes how I felt the first time I saw Elisabeth Shue in Adventures In Babysitting.

“There are few things that keep me up at night… Nick Kroll’s adventures in puberty is one of them, so we greenlit this series with very few questions asked,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix vice president of original content.

“Andrew and I have been best friends since 1st grade, so this show is over 30 years in the making. I can’t wait to tell all the stories that make up the glorious nightmare of puberty,” commented Nick Kroll.

We already know Kroll is skilled at playing teenagers.

Anyway, the rest of the cast is a who’s who of our favorite funny people, including Maya Rudolph, Jordan Peele, Jenny Slate, Jessi Klein, and Jason Mantzoukas, who was born to voice an awkwardly horny teenager. I can’t wait for the episode where Mantzoukas, Kroll, and Mulaney build a sex doll.
