Olivia Wilde Will Rock And/Or Roll In Martin Scorsese's Sex-Fueled HBO Drama

Martin Scorsese’s untitled rock ‘n’ roll drama for HBO is the Traveling Wilburys of TV shows we haven’t seen. The series has an all-star lineup: written by Scorsese (he’s the George Harrison), Boardwalk Empire‘s Terence Winter (Roy Orbison), and Mick Jagger (Mick Jagger; he wasn’t a Wilbury, but that’s only because they didn’t ask him, probably), and starring Bobby Cannavale (Bob Dylan) and now Olivia Wilde (Tom Petty).

Why Petty? Because before bed, she tells Jason Sudeikis, “You got lucky, babe, when I found you.”

The untitled drama is set in 1970s New York and explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of record executive Richie Finestra (Cannavale) who is trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound. Richie is undergoing a crisis of character when confronted with a life-altering decision. Wilde will play Richie’s wife Devon Finestra, a former actress/model who lived a Bohemian life in 1960s New York. Richie’s crisis causes strain on their family and propels her to re-immerse in her former lifestyle. (Via)

The only real question is, over which “bohemian” scene will Marty play “Gimme Shelter”?
