Wyatt Cenac Gets Abducted By Irritable Aliens In The New ‘People Of Earth’ Trailer

The first full trailer for former Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac‘s new TBS comedy, People of Earth has arrived. And just as the short teaser that announced its existence in January suggested, this isn’t going to be your average show about aliens and the people who claim to have been abducted by them. Rather, it’s almost as if The X-Files and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy decided to go on an exotic vacation together while forgetting to book a return flight. All of this sounds amazing, and according to the trailer’s final few frames, we’ll get to see it all sometime in October.

Executive produced by Conan O’Brien and The Office/Parks and Recreation alum Greg Daniels, People of Earth features Cenac as investigative journalist Ozzie Graham. Graham is reporting on Gina Morrison (Ana Gasteyer), a therapist and leader of a group of alien abductees who come together to discuss their encounters and argue about whether or not it’s racist to say “the reptilians are the ones you have to watch out for.” (Yes, this is an actual debate among the gathered abductees. It’s wonderful.) Cenac’s character seems to think they’re a “weirdo circus of attention-seekers and paranoid delusionals,” but as the preview progresses, we find out that Graham himself might be an abductee. He just doesn’t know it yet.
