Pharrell And His Giant Hat Will Appear On ‘The Simpsons’

When it comes to guest stars, few shows in television history can even come near what The Simpsons has achieved. From members of The Beatles to James Woods (low hanging fruit, had to go for it), Springfield is the perfect stomping grounds for celebrities to allow their animated inner selves to come out. Seems you can add producer extraordinaire Pharrell Williams to the long list.

EW has learned that the “Happy” rapper/producer/songwriter/fashion designerVoice coach will make a cameo appearance as himself in the Feb. 8 episode of the animated Fox comedy. Titled “Walking Big & Tall,” the installment opens with a plot that’s based on the true story about a Milwaukee TV station in the 1980s hiring a composer to write a city-pride song, and he ended up shopping the same song to other cities. I hate to be this guy, but really glad that the animators decided to essentially put a smiling face on Pharrell’s giant hat. I may be the first one to notice this, but that was clearly intentional (as it is a character unto itself). Well played, Simpsons‘ animators. Now the hat just needs to tell us Pharrell if he’s in Gryffindor or not.
