President Obama Will Introduce The History Channel’s ‘The World Wars’

Memorial Day weekend is upon us and it’s one of the rare occasions that The History Channel plays things that are related to history, instead of dumb reality shows or some expose on how the Egyptian pyramids were possibly built by aliens. Instead, this weekend will have a six-part event series called The World Wars and it’ll be introduced by President Barack Obama. From Deadline:

President Obama will introduce night one of History’s six-part event series The World Wars. It will air on three consecutive nights on History and H2 beginning Memorial Day Monday at 9 PM. Jeremy Renner will narrate the project, which showcases the 30-year period from 1914 to 1945, featuring interviews with Colin Powell, British Prime Miniter John Major, Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, and Sen. John McCain, among others. Stephen David Entertainment is producing. Russ McCarroll, Paul Cabana and Elaine Frontain Bryant are exec producing for History.

Sounds like something worth tuning into. Memorial Day is more than just BBQ, ice luges, and bonfires. It’s about remembering all the people who gave their lives so that we can sit around and do these things. That is all.
