Russell Brand To Create Animated Series

British comedian Russell Brand, the leather-clad douchepirate husband of Katy Perry and star of Get Him to the Greek, is currently is talks to create an animated series with the producers of “New Girl” and “Bob’s Burgers.” Vulture has some of the details:

Vulture has learned exclusively that the British actor–comedian is in advance talks to team with New Girl producers Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV for a possible half-hour ‘toon. Under the deal coming together, Dan Fybel and Rich Rinaldi, veterans of the Sarah Silverman Program currently working on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers, would write the pilot script; they’d share “created by” credit with Brand. The trio would also executive produce, along with Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. There’s no network attached yet, though 20th’s sister, Fox, will likely have first dibs on the concept once it’s formally pitched.

Now if I’m reading this story correctly, and I believe I am, they’re trying to tell me that Russell Brand is not already a cartoon character. Yeah, right. You mean to tell me there’s actually a giant ADD-riddled man with unkempt hair and a comically British accent who dresses like a satanic 1970s rock star and travels around the world with his buxom, pink-haired pop star wife? In real life?

I’m sorry, I refuse to believe it.
