The Season 17 Premiere Of ‘South Park’ Will Pit Cartman Against The NSA

The 17th season of South Park premieres tomorrow night, and if this preview clip and episode description are any indication, they’re going straight for the biggest fish in the school of stories since we saw them last.

Cartman wants to hold the government accountable for secretly monitoring all of his personal information in an all-new episode of “South Park” titled “Let Go, Let Gov,” premiering Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.

When Cartman manages to get himself behind the doors of the NSA, he doesn’t like what he finds in his personal file. He thinks it’s time he told everyone the truth. Meanwhile, Butters finds someone new to listen to his prayers.

I don’t always agree 100% with South Park’s take on things, but I will say this: the world is a much better place when the show is on television. Stewart and Colbert do a great job of taking down politics, and shows like The Soup provide the vital public service of pointing and laughing at awful reality shows and vapid celebrities, but there’s something to be said for a cartoon elementary school student taking on the entire United States government via a mind-controlled social media platform called “Sh*tter.” I think it’s important that we remember that.
