Seth Meyers and the new Late Night team took on Mad Men with this quick and simple bit last night. It’s fine. Nothing too involved or high concept. Just a straightforward parody of a Don Draper pitch scene with a decent enough punchline.
The thing that I couldn’t get past though is Seth’s unintentional Pete Campbell impersonation. In his attempt to channel Jon Hamm’s alter ego I’m seeing a lot more potential for nailing “Not great Bob!” and falling down the stairs in a frantic state. Maybe it’s simply the hairline, but if Seth Meyers gets mauled by a bear I think we’ll all know why.
