Zombie Frank Grimes Finally Gets His Revenge Against Homer In This ‘Simpsons’ Halloween Couch Gag

Frank Grimes, one of The Simpsons most famous and popular one-off characters (the other being Hank Scorpio, of course), will be making his first return onscreen appearance on Sunday’s “Treehouse of Horror XXVI” couch gag as a zombie hell bent on revenge against the Homer and the family. If he looks differently than you remember him, it’s not just because ol’ Grimey has been rotting underground for the past 18 years, it’s because the opening will be animated by Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi. This will be Kricfalusi’s second time animating the couch gag, as he previously did the one in 2011’s season 23 episode, “Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts.”

As we previously mentioned, this year’s “Treehouse of Horror” will see another character finally getting revenge on a member of the Simpsons family, as Sideshow Bob will finally get to kill Bart, then reanimate him and kill him over and over and over again. This year was also the first year that The Simpsons featured two Halloween episodes. Last Sunday’s “Halloween of Horror” was the first ever Halloween-themed Simpsons episode that broke the traditional format of having three separate spoof vignettes, and it was actually pretty stellar if you happened to miss out — possibly the best episode in years.
