The Guns Are Out In The ‘South Park’ Season Finale

In a season that’s covered everything from police brutality to ISIS, South Park is going out with a bang this Wednesday. The finale, titled “PC Principal Final Justice” (a reference to Joe Don Baker?), concerns “the gentrification of South Park pricing Randy right out of town. Meanwhile, Kyle’s distrust of Stan has broken their friendship and thrown Kyle into a dangerous alliance,” according to a press release. Also, Cartman and his mom threaten to shoot each other.

That seems important.

It’ll be interesting to see which side of the gun control debate Matt Stone and Trey Parker fall on. Back in 2012, Parker said they’re “for both” gay marriage and guns. “We’re from Colorado,” Stone added, “and look at the way Colorado’s gone politically in the last few elections, it’s now gay-friendly, weed-friendly, gun-friendly. There’s an element of Colorado that I think is in us.” But that was a depressing number of mass killings ago, so their beliefs may have shifted. Then again, they could also sidestep the issue completely, and have every handgun and assault rifle in the world turn into a floppy penis.

Classic South Park.
