A few things.

First of all, there’s a teaser for the upcoming Unauthorized Full House Story Lifetime is doing that seems to imply that John Stamos tried to get the Olsen twins fired off of Full House when the were babies. The story has been floating around for a while, but today at the TCAs, Stamos himself eliminated any doubt by telling Entertainment Weekly: He’ll fire a baby. He’ll totally fire a baby.

“It’s sort of true that the Olsen twins cried a lot,” Stamos told critics at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Beverly Hills. “It was very difficult to get the shot. So I [gesturing], ‘Get them out…!’ That is actually 100 percent accurate. They brought in a couple of unattractive redheaded kids. We tried that for a while and that didn’t work. [Producers] were like, all right, get the Olsen twins back. And that’s the story.”

Second, uhhhh, shout out to the redheaded kids who (a) have lived their entire lives wondering how close they were to earning millions and millions of Olsen money, and (b) have now, 20+ years later, out of nowhere, have been referred to as “unattractive” in a kind of hilariously unnecessary low blow by Uncle Jesse. It’s like that scene in every outdoors-y comedy where characters barely navigate raging whitewater rapids and breathe a sigh of relieve upon reaching calm water, only to look up and WHOOOOOOAAAA waterfall.

And third, yes, I plan to continue using the photo of 1980s Stamos sittin’ sidesaddle on a motorcycle in a parking lot every time I write about him. Just a wonderful photograph.
