Stephen King Gave Flavor Flav A Shout Out On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Stephen King has been making a living scaring the crap out of the general public for well over 40-years. His impact is long-reaching through his works of fiction, non-fiction, countless movie adaptations, and multiple television projects. Sure, some TV adaptations of his work are coming to a close — I’m looking at you Under the Dome and Haven — but the man seems to have many more tricks up his sleeve which includes those Dark Tower movies, the remake of The Stand, the J.J. Abrams-led Hulu series 11/22/63, and even that very odd sounding Cujo remake.

I mention all these projects above because our long-time master of horror was just awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Obama. Not the modest type, Mr. King wore the medal around his neck when he paid Stephen Colbert a visit on Friday. It was hard for Colbert not to notice the shiny object and when he mentioned it, King commented about how wearing it made him feel like notorious hip-hop hype man (say that five times fast!) Flavor Flav.

Without missing a beat, Colbert offered some sinister advice of his own to the famous horror scribe by saying, “You can sharpen the edge of that and it would make a nice murder weapon.” Hmm, go on…I like where this is going…
