Stevie Wonder Actually Takes The Wheel During This Tense Carpool Karaoke With James Corden

James Corden has gotten many occupants to participate in Carpool Karaoke so far in his tenure on The Late Late Show, but Stevie Wonder may be the biggest name yet. He certainly provided the highest amount of times I’ve wanted to sing along at home, proving that his song catalog is infectious.

By far the sweetest move of the trip was Stevie singing “I Just Called to Say I Love You” to Corden’s wife over the phone. It almost makes me want to get a wife and talk show just to pull that off myself. Though that didn’t distract from Stevie giving more credence to those rumors of him not being blind. Like, sure, the driver seat thing was a gag, but the multiple uses of Face Time probably weren’t. If we come to find out that Stevie isn’t actually blind, we can point to this moment as one that’s a bit more special than just a silly late night segment. It’s going to be proof of the greatest con that was ever pulled on humanity. By a guy with a genius mind for music.

Can’t blame him. He has to get a kick out of all those blind jokes.
