‘Supergirl’ May Crossover With ‘Flash’ Again, But As Another Iconic DC Comics Character

The Supergirl and Flash crossover episode was a rollickingly fun hour of television, with Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist being their naturally adorable and charismatic selves as the titular superheroes. Barry Allen crossed over to Supergirl’s neck of the woods due to his ability to hop universes using his speed. With that particular adventure now over though, fans are wondering whether a reverse situation could happen where Kara Danvers visits the Flash team in their universe. According to the producer of both series, Andrew Kreisberg, such a crossover could indeed be in the cards. In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Kreisberg lays out a few ways in which this occurs.

“Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien. It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie.”

When asked whether there could be a Power Girl in The Flash’s universe instead of Supergirl, Kreisberg seemed open to that potential loophole.

 “Sure, different costume, but sure.”

Kreisberg is probably talking about the revealing nature of Power Girl’s costume in the comic books, but that’s neither here nor there. Power Girl as part of the expanded DC television universe is a great concept with potentially exciting possibilities for character work and storylines. By opening up the idea that Kara Danvers is a different alien on each separate Earth, it is now more reasonable to have these two characters visit more often, instead of just combining the Arrow and Flash teams intricately with each other. So keep your eyes peeled for any Kryptonite in Central City, as that’s a sure sign Kara Danvers (whichever universe’s version of her that may exist) is right around the corner.
