We’re Not Sure You Know What The Word ‘Surprise’ Means, ‘Parks And Recreation’

Lost in the celebration of the 100th episode of Parks and Recreation and Amy Poehler’s big win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy is the fact that we’re only a few episodes and weeks away from the final episode for Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones. In February, Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger will be moving to Michigan to raise their child, and that has already left Leslie Knope panicking to cope with the loss of her best friend. Fortunately, we know that the rest of the cast will step up and Leslie will never really be at a shortage of pals. They just won’t be as beautiful as Ann Perkins.

What we don’t know is how the show will send Ann and Chris out, but if the Parks and Rec Twitter account is to be believed, we now at least know one of the details thanks to a strange “surprise.” Of course, I won’t be a big, ol’ jerk and reveal the “surprise,” too, but you can read it here if you can’t wait until Thursday night. Instead, I took the Parks and Rec Tweet and put Jean Ralphio’s picture over the picture they Tweeted, because he makes everything better.

In defense of the show’s social media, I’m pretty sure this “surprise” was already leaked earlier this season. I’m also pretty sure they wouldn’t be this blunt and obvious, as they proved by making everyone think that Ann or Leslie would be pregnant, while only incredibly brilliant sleuths like me knew that it was Diane. So if I had to guess what the actual surprise is, I’d say that Leslie will announce her candidacy for mayor. That one’s coming eventually, so why not this week?

In the meantime, let Ron Swanson show you the best method to avoid all spoilers.
