Tara Reid Is Officially Back As April For ‘Sharknado 4,’ So Try To Act Surprised

Have you been locked in a panic room for the past year HORRIFIED by the prospect of Tara Reid exiting the Sharknado franchise? It’s safe to come out now. She’s back for more adventure in America’s most efficient cameo distribution system.

SyFy revealed the fate of the Taradise host’s alter-ego April in a brand new spot. For those unfamiliar with the rich storytelling of the Sharknado cinematic universe, fans were given the opportunity to sort out on social media whether or not Reid’s character would live or die. The verdict appears to be alive and there’s a goofy training montage to prove it. “She’s back, b*tches,” gushes the voiceover guy before we get shots of Reid hauling vehicles with a rope. Ideally, this means we get a Magnús Ver Magnússon pop-in at some point.

Elsewhere in Sharknado news, the fourth film’s stuffed cameo list has expanded once again. Sadly, celebrity sharks continue to turn down the project, but Deadline reports that Steve Guttenberg, Carrot Top and WWE superstar Seth Rollins are among the new crop of famous people dropping in. Mind you, “famous” is a pretty loose construct in the Sharknado universe, even if they do give opportunities to crotch thrust a flying shark into oblivion. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU, DANIEL DAY LEWIS!

Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens will arrive on SyFy on July 31 with Reid, Ian Ziering, Gary Busey and quite possibly anyone that’s ever been on a “celebrity” reality show in the cast.
