‘The Bubble’ Is The ‘SNL’ Answer For Those Clueless Progressives Who Can’t Face Living In Trump’s America

There’s no doubt you’ve seen the many responses to the election around the internet. People who are having a hard time coming to grips with Donald Trump as president and they’re looking for a safe space. We already know the theater isn’t safe for anybody, but what if that theater was located inside of one giant safe space? That’s where SNL comes into play with “The Bubble,” a planned community that has all the “good stuff” that people like.

The basic idea is taking that nice little comfort zone we all have online with what we read, watch, hear, and socialize within and expanding it to an entire city. It’s like Sim City, but the people themselves are the disaster waiting to happen and not some space alien you can call upon once you’re bored of playing. And these aren’t bad people, but living in this type of environment would no doubt be difficult after enough time passes. What happens when the artisanal cheeses run out? Who will come to the rescue when someone’s soap business ends up burning down their apartment? Who will clear out the people who already live in whatever city this thing is supposed to be in?

It could be worse. It could be Glenn Beck’s Ayn Rand-inspired village, where Ann Taylor isn’t welcome and the streets are paved with all the gold and silver he told people to buy for years. This isn’t too much different, but at least they’d have a used bookstore or two to peruse.
