In a world where Ted Cruz is calling out President Obama, you would think The Daily Show would have some thoughts on the matter. But clearly there’s something more important going on in Louisiana. Gubernatorial candidates Sen. David Vitter (R) and Rep. John Bel Edwards (D) are running to take over Bobby Jindal’s seat. Vitter got into a bit of hot water in 2007, when he admitted to “sinning” with prostitutes while married as a client of the D.C. Madam, and Edwards has been busting his chops about it throughout the campaign. It’s gotten to the point where there were ads juxtaposing Edwards’ military service with Vitter scoring hookers.

So, you can imagine Vitter smelling blood when Edwards got himself into a scandalous situation. The Democrat skipped a debate and instead invited voters with him to a strip club and afterwards, gathered everyone on a party bus for some early voting. Unfortunately, when Vitter tried to call him out for his actions, Edwards retorted with a burn so sick that he just piled on for the rest of the debate.

By the way, if Edwards is in need of more fun ideas between now and election day, there’s a certain resident of his state who probably has some free time to lend his services. If you’re going to party for votes, party all the way.
