‘The Daily Show’ News Team Proves Their Survival Skills While Preparing For The RNC

Trevor Noah and The Daily Show news team kicked off their coverage of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Tuesday, rewinding on Monday’s most pressing events and showing just how much prep went into their arrival in the city.

Jordan Klepper is on site with his safety blanket, Hasan Minhaj decided to change his entire persona into one that might be more acceptable on the convention floor, and Roy Wood Jr. is perfecting his Steve Harvey impression. It’s a wonderful time, kicked off by Noah’s take on Donald Trump’s memorable entrance on night one of the convention. Pretty spot on despite the lack of Queen.

Speaking of Trump, the main story of the night revolved around Melania Trump and the speech that rocked the world. People were lining up to praise the speech soon after it happened, we even noted that it humanized Trump more than we’ve seen in this campaign. But then the news popped out about the copied paragraphs, followed closely by the odd defenses, and then eventually the reversal about the content of the speech itself by the public.

That said, Noah and The Daily Show crew manage to tie it back into Taylor Swift’s phone conversation with Kanye West and I really feel like everything is going to be back to normal soon.
