Joel McHale’s ‘Community’ Pals Will Help Him Say Goodbye To ‘The Soup’ Tonight

Today/next week/the rest of the month/next year/our entire lives, if Disney has their way, is all about Star Wars. But there’s another big pop-culture event happening this weekend: the final episode of The Soup. Joel McHale’s glorious Kardashian snark is coming to an end after 11 years (and 11 more before that as Talk Soup), because E! can’t afford Mankini’s bikinis anymore.

The series finale kicks off at 10 p.m. EST, with a This Is Your Life-level collection of celebrity friends and admirers who assembled to wish McHale a fond farewell. According to the AV Club, there’s Eric Idle, Timothy Omundson, Seth Green, James Van Der Beek, Paul Feig, Rob Huebel, Haley Joel Osment, Rich Sommer, Lou Diamond Phillips, Nathan Fillion, Adam Scott, Wendy McLendon-Covey, Donald Faison, and Rob Riggle, as well as his Community buddies, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Danny Pudi.

With all those familiar faces, will there be any time to show clips? Or will the episode turn into an elaborate A Christmas Carol parody, with Britta, the Dean, and Abed as Marley and Marley and, um, Marley (The Soup is the only show that hasn’t done a Christmas Carol spoof)? Tune in tonight to find out! Either way, I better see my precious Spaghetti Cat one more time.
