With all of the game show fails out there, it’s nice to know there are still some people who don’t crack under pressure in front of millions on live TV. Take Sarah Manchester for example. The math teacher from Silver Spring, Maryland decided to challenge herself in a different subject by competing on Wheel of Fortune as part of the show’s Teacher Week. After crushing the competition in the warm-up rounds, Manchester set her sights on the final puzzle.
Besides putting up with Pat Sajak for an entire taping, Manchester also managed to actually make some decent letter choices which helped her to easily solve the final word puzzle. Her grand prize: an amount of money won by only two other contestant’s in the show’s history. Manchester’s total winnings ended up amounting to $1,017,490 but her reaction to finding out she had just become a millionaire? Priceless.
