Chinese Investors Bring ‘Rick And Morty’ To Life With Titanic Simulation

The sinking of the Titanic is both an incredible loss of life due to the arrogance of man and the failure of engineering, and a gold mine thanks to James Cameron and industrious meme generators around the world. And now, after two decades of jokes, a Chinese consortium has decided to bring Rick And Morty into reality and are building a Titanic theme park. And yes, the boat will crash into the iceberg. Repeatedly.

According to Reuters, Seven Star Energy Investment Group is building a life-sized Titanic in Daying County, Sichuan Province, and just laid the keel amid fireworks and celebration. The idea is that eventually they’ll have a full size Titanic that will crash into an iceberg for daily shows, or in the words of the investors, “over and over again,” like the passengers are stuck in a time loop in a Star Trek episode.

We know what you’re thinking, but this really is happening, or is at least a scam that’s smart enough to buy a website you can find and draw up some plans to look at. It’s worth noting China has no shortage of unusual theme parks, like the notorious Beijing Shijingshan park, and this will supposedly add to them by the end of 2017. Just, hopefully, there’s not a car in the hold with a removable floor.
