In A Bid To Become The Anti-Leslie Knope, Victoria Jackson Is Running For A Local Government Office

Former SNL alum, Victoria Jackson — who we can all assume is definitely not f*cking with us at this point — has announced that she’s filed to run as an independent candidate for a seat on a county commission somewhere outside Nashville, TN. Jackson has been known in recent years for her tea party politics and, uh, “unpopular” opinions. So basically, just like Leslie Knope, only the complete opposite of that in every way possible. From NBC New York:

Jackson, who calls herself a tea party conservative, moved to Thompson Station in Williamson County last year. She told The Tennessean she filed as an independent because she’s “very disappointed with the Republican Party.”

As long as Jackson meets the candidate qualifying requirements by the Feb. 20 deadline, her name will appear on the election ballot Aug. 7.

Think about that. This is the kind of world we live in now, where Victoria Jackson’s name will likely appear on an election ballot in some capacity. Just for fun, here are some excerpts from the official announcement Jackson posted on her website:

I have just become an “empty nester” so I have time in between acting jobs to get involved. (I’m doing stand up comedy with Joe Piscopo and Father Guido Sarducci Feb. 21 and shooting a movie in Louisiana in May.)

I find it very difficult to believe that a talented actress/comedian juggernaut like Victoria Jackson can find time between movie gigs and comedy at churches to get involved, but go on:

I’m against Agenda 21, which is being implemented already at the local level, in offices like Main St. Franklin where “Franklin Tomorrow” pushes “innocent” policies like bike paths and walking trails, perhaps unaware of the United Nations plot to separate American citizens from their private property, eliminate suburbs, and concentrate people groups into cities, forcing mass transit, eliminating cars under the false-science guise of “human caused” global warming/climate change. Go to Agenda21today.com for info.

Walking trails and bike paths. I KNEW IT. I bet the Muslims are behind this. Those Muslims, always bicycling around with their Muslim bicycles and walking around with their Muslim feet.

I support fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, and the Constitution. I’m for less taxes, less regulation, less government. I support small business. I want to keep District 2 rural. I think nature is important. But, something needs to be done about the traffic jam on Main Street/Columbia Pike.

And therein lies the beauty of Victoria Jackson’s campaign. While most of her stances are the political equivalent of a chimpanzee smearing its own sh*t all over the walls — when it comes down to it, she really just wants to eliminate the traffic jam on Main Street and Columbia Pike. Next thing you know we’ll find out she loves waffles, too.
