Weekend Preview: ‘Preacher’ Settles In, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Makes Moves And ‘Feed The Beast’ Premieres

Feed the Beast (AMC, 10:00 p.m.) – This new culinary crime drama starring David Schwimmer is all kinds of juicy – and by juicy, we mean dirty mob deals, crime lords with monikers like “The Tooth Fairy,” drugs, alcohol, modern-day brothels and, oh yeah, some great cooking montages. If Schwimmer’s turn in Ryan Murphy’s O.J. Simpson saga American Crime Story wasn’t enough to clue you into the fact that he actually has dramatic chops, this show will.

Game of Thrones (HBO, 9:00 p.m.) – Last week, the show took a huge departure from the books by reintroducing a favorite Stark family member. Whether you were a fan of that decision or not, it’s certainly going to have consequences, as is tonight’s episode, which features: Jaime leading an army; the High Sparrow targeting another victim; Arya making her own plans sans the Faceless Men; Yara and Theon plotting how to take back the Iron Islands; and Jon and Sansa rallying support for their cause. We’ll also be making a trip to the Riverlands (you know, where the Red Wedding reception was held), so here’s a refresher course in case you’ve blocked the bloody place from your mind.

Preacher (AMC, 9:00 p.m.) – Now that the bat-sh*t crazy-ness of the pilot is out of the way, Preacher is starting to slow down and focus more on its characters. Tonight’s episode shows Jesse struggling to do good while unaware that a dangerous and mysterious duo is after him.

Cops (Spike, Saturday 8:00 p.m.) – Season 29 kicks off with a high-speed chase, a law-breaker who doesn’t mind lying in order not to get caught and a recent parolee who has a run-in with a police unit.

Outlander (Starz, Saturday 9:00 p.m.) – Claire and Jamie are back on Scottish soil and we’re being treated to the return of even more familiar faces as the MacKenzie men join the Fraisers in taking up arms for the rebellion.

Miss USA Pageant (Fox, Sunday 7:00 p.m.) – Julianne Hough co-hosts the 65th annual competition taking places in Las Vegas this year. Expect a performance by The Backstreet Boys and model Ashley Graham to serve as the backstage emcee of the night.

NBA Finals: Game 2: Cavaliers at Warriors (ABC, Sunday 8:00 p.m.) – Cleveland heads to the Golden State for Game 2 of the Finals.

The Girlfriend Experience (Starz, Sunday 8:00 p.m.) – After that humiliating episode at the law firm, Christine is forced to focus solely on her secondary profession – being a call-girl to rich clients.

Game of Silence (NBC, Sunday 10:00 p.m.) – Carroll gets a surprise visit from the FBI and Marina uncovers a secret that could change Jackson’s life forever.

Penny Dreadful (Showtime, Sunday 10:00 p.m.) — Ethan, Sir Malcolm and Hecate arrive at Jarod Talbot’s ranch as Vanessa is introduced to a new ally through her old pal Ferdinand Lyle.

Silicon Valley (HBO, 10:00 p.m.) – As the Nucleus team undertakes a difficult task from Gavin, Erlich makes a big decision and Dinesh worries over his ever-shrinking social circle.

Veep (HBO, 10:30 p.m.) – Selina uses the White House Christmas party to earn more votes to break the election tie while Mike considers a career move and Dan helps Jonah hone his debate skills.
