Jon Benjamin Has a Van (Comedy Central) — Series premiere. I love Benjamin — who voices the title characters in both “Archer” and ‘Bob’s Burgers” — but I’ve yet to see any previews from this fake investigative reporting show that make it look worthwhile (see a preview clip below). Alan Sepinwall’s damning review says that it’s “one sketch after another built around a single joke, stretched past the point where even ‘SNL’ might feel pangs of comedy writer’s remorse.” Ouch.
Tosh.0 (Comedy Central) — Freshly renewed for a fourth season, Tosh gives the Cheerleader Fail Girls a Web Redemption (I remember posting the original clip on With Leather years ago). Expect tonight’s show to be raunchier than usual; Tosh just tweeted that he’s still fighting to get tonight’s episode on air because “Comedy Central doesn’t think you’re mature enough to learn how to eat pussy.”
Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family) — Season premiere. Girls talk about makeup or whatever.
HawthoRNe (TNT) — Season premiere. Marc Anthony joins the cast as a series regular, making this the top show on television for spouses of actual stars.
The Nine Lives of Chloe King (ABC Family) — Series premiere. Totally serious description from Yahoo: “This new supernatural teen drama introduces us to an ancient race of superpowered cat people…” It goes on from there, but I think that’s all the information anybody needs.
