It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX, 10:00 p.m.) — The gang returns for an 11th season as they agree to a probably very short-lived truce as they demonstrate the viability of their incredible game, CharDee MacDennis.

People’s Choice Awards (CBS, 9:00 p.m.) — It’s only fitting that the People’s Choice Awards prominently features the man responsible for popularizing The People’s Elbow, as The Rock is nominated in three (!!!) different categories.

American Idol (FOX, 8:00 p.m.) — Season 15, people. It’s happening. The horrible and brilliant audition process beings as American Idol kicks-off another season.

The Middle (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) — Axl teaches Mike about the Twitter and Sue rushes a sorority. TOGA! TOGA! TOGA! College kids still do that, right?

2 Broke Girls (CBS, 8:00 p.m.) — Max is dating a guy who admits to having an irregular, er, situation and is thus reluctant to, ahem, take their relationship to the next level.

Mysteries of Laura (NBC, 8:00 p.m.) — The thing about New York is that — like parfaits and ogres before it — it’s comprised of many layers. Laura and Co. chase a potential murderer on one of those elevated layers: building rooftops.

The Goldbergs (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) — New year, new you … new kitchen? Beverley enacts an evil scheme to get Murray to agree to (or reluctantly intervene, as it were) a remodeling project.

Mike & Molly (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) — Aw, Mike and Carl agree to work on their relationship by attending couple’s counseling, bringing new meaning to their police partnership.

Modern Family (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) — Claire and Phil play chicken with a restaurant bill on a double date and everyone else in the family gets roped into a belated birthday celebration for Cam.

Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9:00 p.m.) — Olivia Benson and Co. look to teach you a valuable lesson about the scary side of female teachers sexually abusing their adolescent male students.

Black-ish (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) — Three’s a crowd when Dre’s childhood friend — guest star Tyra Banks — visits and leaves Bow feeling left out. Oh, and her character just happens to be a massive pop star.

American Horror Story: Hotel (FX, 10:00 p.m.) — Ramona resorts to drastic measures to revitalize herself and Gabourey Sidibe checks in.

Chicago PD (NBC, 10:00 p.m.) — Anyone who’s had to witness someone go through chemo therapy can attest to how horrible it is, so you can imagine Voight’s disbelief when a doctor from his past is suspected of poisoning his patients with unnecessary treatment.
