Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll (FX, 10:00 p.m.) – Season two begins as the band’s future comes into question after the death of a close friend. Dennis Leary’s washed-up former front man Johnny Rock struggles with handing the reigns over to the group’s new lead singer, his daughter.
BattleBots (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) – Qualifying rounds continue as 16 teams battle it out in an arena filled with hazards. Really, though, if you’re into watching robots fight each other, why not check out one of the 500 Transformers movies Michael Bay’s made in the past few years? They’re crap, but they’re probably more exciting than this show.
Tiger Beach: Sharkopedia Edition (DSC, 8:00 p.m.) — Shark expert Neil Hammerschlag tracks tiger sharks in the Bahamas.
U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming finals (NBC, 8:00 p.m.) – More swimming trials, this time finals in the men’s 100m free, 200m breast and the women’s 200m fly.
WWE SmackDown (USA, 8:00 p.m.) — Cesaro, Apollo Crews, Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus duke it out in a Fatal 4-Way match to see who will challenge Rusev for the United States Championship.
Beauty and the Beast (CW, 9:00 p.m.) – Vincent gets a glimpse of what life would be like for Cat if the two had never met after they’re forced into hiding by his enemies.
Big Brother (CBS, 9:00 p.m.) – Another house guest is evicted tonight. Our money’s on Jozea. When you go around repeating phrases like “I’m CEO, in my mind,” and “I feel like I’m the Messiah,” you’re just asking for it.
Greatest Hits (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) – The premiere of the six-part series highlighting the popular music of the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s is just ABC’s way of trying to hook viewers by giving them a bad case of pop culture nostalgia, but hey, if Kool and the Gang and Rick Springfield are in, so are we.
