Top 100 Video Games of All Time (G4, 8 p.m.) – Did I make the name of this special the headline for Google search purposes? Yes. Will I watch this special? Yes. Am I intrigued as to why Robin Williams is in this special? Yes. Should PaRappa the Rapper be included in this special? No.
NHL Stanley Cup Finals (NBC, 8 p.m.) – Game six between the Devils and Kings. Check out With Leather for analysis beyond the names of the teams.
Are You Normal, America? (OWN, 9 p.m.) – “Is It Normal to Have Sex in Public?” Canadians need not reply.
Bunheads (ABC Family, 9 p.m.) – Series premiere. The newest show from Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of “Gilmore Girls,” about a former showgirl who begins teaching at a dance…but now I’ve lost you because you’re all thinking about Rory’s sideboob on “Mad Men.” I understand.
JFK Assassination (Military, 10 p.m.) – It’s assassination night on Military, where you can first watch MLK, then RFK, and finally JFK get shot, over and over and over again. Would it be ethically sound for a member of the Oswald family to work at Military?
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Marky Mark on Letterman; Elizabeth Banks on Leno; Jason Schwartzman on Ferguson; Keira Knightley and Glen Hansard on Fallon; Jack McBrayer on Conan; Boris Johnson on Stewart; and Martin Sheen on Colbert.
Conflicted about Parappa. It helped pave the wave for Amplitude, GuitarHero and those style games. I also played it a ton.
I was also stoned off my ass while playing so who knows if it was actually any good…
Parappa was awesome. “Kick. Punch. It’s all in the mind.” Words to live by.
Haha, the first thing I thought of when I saw Parappa The Rapper was the “Kick, Punch, It’s all in the mind” rhyme from that onion dude. Awesome.
Top video game of all time = Tecmo Bowl.
Tecmo Super Bowl – because it kept your stats and had exactly the right number of plays
Robin Williams loves video games so much he named his daughter “Zelda”.
True story.
Which means a Zelda game is probably #1.
Also true story: his daughter is attractive.
Hm, good to know. That hairy man must really love video games, then.
But Bunheads stars super adorable/talented Boradway actress Sutton Foster, who was also Coco on FotC, and therefor the inspiration for one of the greatest songs of all time.
BROADWAY. Goddammit. I was just too excited to have an excuse to post FotC videos.
OBJECTION! Second greatest, I think you mean. Happily, the same holds true for the actual greatest song of all time.
Also, I really want that list to include Rival Schools, because I feel like the only one who remembers that game. It was like Street Fighter + high school kids + Japanese weirdness. And it was fantastic.
Don’t forget the insane double team moves.
+1
List shows are a roller coasters of fury and elation. Combined with the highs and lows of gaming, this show could kill some overweight fanboys, leaving them in their mothers’ basements to rot for days and days…
I’ll just wait for the slideshow once they’re done counting it down. I really don’t wanna sit through Coolio’s reasons why “Mega Man” is the 83rd best game ever.
I’m with you, Junker23. While most of the time I only catch a “list show” when there’s nothing on and it’s on it’s 18th repeat on E! or VH1, I’ll probably DVR this one so I can blow through it, pausing for the important memories.
I’m an arrow slangin fool with Zelda on my mind…
If Mad Men taught me anything it’s that the Gilmore Girls did not show up at the office wearing only a coat and lingerie nearly enough times. THAT is how you write Rory Gilmore.
Relevant.
/I still play Mario 3 on occasion.
That music’s so calming.
If “Ocarina of Time” isn’t #1 I’ll kill all of your families. I don’t care if you people have nothing to do with this list, it’s just something I have to do.
I’d guess it’s either going to be Ocarina or some Mario.
Isn’t it always Assassination Night on the History Channel? If the Luftwaffe were the Washington Generals of the History Channel, as Homer Simpson espoused, then JFK is Hank Gathers or Len Bias… gone too soon.
Earthworm Jim or GTFO
Fallout 1 > everything else
Greatest game ever: Journey to the Centre of Hawkthorne, why, 8-Bit Daybreak

My personal #1 video game is Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past. Mainly because it was the first game I ever bought with my own money and I have played that game through hundreds of times. (I didn’t get a N64 until about 8 years ago, but I do also love Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. All of the sounds on my phone are from those two games.)
Though if Red Dead Redemption isn’t pretty high on there someone deserves a swift kick to the balls. That game was awesome.
No love for Brigandine? This list blows.
Ya’ll crazy, no super metroid or Resident evil 4 love around here?
I didn’t see the entire count down did Final Fantasy X make the list?
