What’s On Tonight: Coach Returns To ‘New Girl.’ Will He Twirl?

New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.) — Asked during her Reddit AMA to describe tonight’s episode in one word, Hannah Simone — who plays Cece — offered this: “COACH.” Damon Wayans, Jr. makes his triumphant return to the sitcom tonight.

Mindy Project (Fox, 9:30) — Meanwhile, Damon Wayans’ Happy Endings‘ castmate Adam Pally continues to do good work on The Mindy Project, although his Bro-Doctor makes some bristle. I am not one of them.

The Goldbergs (ABC, 9 p.m.) — I was so upset with The Goldbergs after a particular episode because the lead character was wearing a Back to the Future shirt while attending a screening of Poltergeist, and everyone knows that Back to the Future came out three years after Poltergeist. so how could he be wearing a T-shirt that didn’t exist yet? Series creator Adam Goldberg explains how this week on Vulture.

Sons of Anarchy (FX, 10 p.m.) — On December 3rd, the show is putting out Songs of Anarchy, Volume 3, another compilation of music from the show, and this one features a song by Maggie Siff (who plays Tara Knowles), and you know what? She has a pretty great voice.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 8 p.m.) — The title of tonight’s episode is “FZZT.” More like ZZzzzzT, am I right? (That doesn’t even make sense)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 8:30 p.m.) — There will be a pie-eating contest in tonight’s episode. I REPEAT: A pie-eating contest. If they make any reference to Stand By Me, I will anoint this as my new favorite network sitcom.

LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: On Letterman, Nancy Pelosi will do the Top 10 list; Liam Hemsworth is on Leno; Vince Vaughn stops by Jimmy Kimmel Live; Kevin Kline will be on Craig Ferguson; Fallon has Lucy Liu; Jon Stewart will sit down with John Goodman; Dr. J will be on Colbert; and Jonny Gomes and Shane Victorino from the Red Sox are on Conan.
