What’s On Tonight: We Get To Meet Captain Holt’s Husband On ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 8 p.m.) — Well, I hope you haven’t bailed on this show yet, because if you have, Clark Gregg thinks you’re a loser. Real geeks suffer.

New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.) — Nick runs into his ex Caroline, and Jess encourages him to be friends with her by introducing him to one of her exes. Adam Brody will play the ex, and it’s always good to see The Waitress (who plays Caroline).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 9:30 p.m.) — SCHEDULING ALERT. Brooklyn Nine-Nine moves into its cozy new time slot tonight. In this episode, Captain Holt has a birthday party, and we finally get to meet his husband, played by Marc Evan Jackson (Parks and Recreation).

Justified (FX, 10 p.m.) — Tonight’s episode is a doozy, folks, involving a mob revenge plan that threatens to expose a secret from Raylan’s past. It’s one of the series best. I’ll say no more.

Trophy Wife (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) — Tonight, Pete takes Warren and Bert to karate lessons. Warren and Bert, by the way, are basically two of the very few great kid characters on TV. They should get their own spin-off. I wouldn’t watch it, but I wouldn’t mind that it existed.

Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) — Who has two thumbs and is returning to Cougar Town tonight? Dr. Kelso.

Person of Interest (CBS, 10:01 p.m.) — I don’t watch this show, but people say it’s great. Tonight’s episode involves a heist.

LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Letterman has Clooney and Leno has McConaughey. Damn! Don’t tell me that Letterman isn’t trying to steal thunder away from Leno on his last week. Everyone else is picking up the scraps: Kimmel has Barkhad Abdi; Fallon has a Best Of episode, Ferguson has Megan Mullally, Elizabeth Banks is on The Daily Show, while Pussy Riot is on Colbert. Conan is left with with Ted Danson.
