What’s On Tonight: ‘The Mindy Project’s’ Last Episode Before The Hiatus

The Mindy Project (Fox, 9:30 p.m.) — I don’t know what the consensus around here is on The Mindy Project, but over the last month — as its really trained its focus on Mindy, Danny, Max from Happy Endings and whoever Mindy is dating — the Fox sitcom has been as good as its ever been. I’m gonna miss it during its hiatus (Brooklyn Nine-Nine will move into this slot until it runs out of new episodes, then Mindy will return).

Justified (FX, 10 p.m.) — In tonight’s episode, Raylan kicks back in a mob accountant’s La-Z-Boy, and may or may not mess around with Amy Smart.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 8:30 p.m.) — Terry returns to the field and learns from Jake how to control his emotions. Terry loves a good cry.

New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.) — I absolutely love that they couldn’t figure out how to work CeCe into plotlines without her relationship with Schmidt, so they just made her a bartender. Why not?

Trophy Wife (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) — Love this show, but it also has the worst names on TV. Bert. Warren. Jackie. Diane Hillary. It’s as though they used a baby book from the 1940s to come up with all the character names.

Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) — Tonight’s episode was directed by Courteney Cox. Last week’s was directed by Bobby Cobb, and they did a fine damn job of utilizing Matthew Perry.

Kroll Show (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.) — I watched last week’s season premiere. It was OK. I actually liked the in-between sketch segments where Kroll was just being himself the best. Some of those sketch characters wear thin quickly.
