Whoopi Goldberg Says She Plans To ‘Go And Grow’ After This Season Of ‘The View’

The View will outlive us all. It will be on television until the end of time and presumably a little bit after the end of time. The resilient ABC morning chat staple is enjoying all the exciting perks that being on the air for 20 seasons can provide (namely 20th anniversary graphics and the like), but don’t bet on the farm on seeing Whoopi Goldberg on the panel once season 21 begins in 2017. It sounds like the EGOT certified talent has other plans.

Goldberg engaged in a bit of dish about her ideas for the future on The Wendy Williams Show, which seems like a fun place to muse about your career and life plans. On the program, Goldberg confirmed that she only has one season left with The View and she’s got other things on the to do list. Eddie 2 things? Probably not. Here’s how the former Oscar host responded to being asked if she’ll extend her View stay.

“No, probably not,” offered Goldberg. “I have to do it, baby, because I have to go and grow. I got stuff to do, I got movies I need to direct, I got books I got to finish.”

Considering that Goldberg’s been on the show since 2007, that’s a big ol’ backlog of stuff to work through. Of course, nothing’s official on her eventual departure just yet, so save those Theodore Rex prequel ideas for the time being.
