Will Ferrell Is The Exotic Animal Expert ‘The Late Show’ Needs Now

Stephen Colbert made sure to bring his A game to a special Sunday live taping of The Late Show aired after Super Bowl 50. There were plenty of guests (both live and pre-taped), including President Obama, Key and Peele, Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, Megyn Kelly, as well as Will Ferrell, who is quite the exotic animal expert, it turns out.

Will Ferrell set the tone early, walking out in safari garb (including revealing khaki shorts) to an elevator rendition of “Hotline Bling.” When Colbert inquired about the safari outfit, Ferrell confessed he’s vying for an important recurring guest spot at any late night show: “You don’t really have an animal expert yet.”

He then gave a six and a half-minute demonstration of why he should definitely be The Late Show‘s resident exotic animal expert, as his assistants brought out a bevy of “the rarest and most endangered animals” and one very common one.

We won’t spoil every joke, but we will say we can’t wait til Will Ferrell can get his wolverine-crossbreeding program going with Cilantro, the duck-bodied platypus. Yes, duck-bodied, not duck-billed. Cilantro is a rare and majestic creature. Only one left.
