The little-comedy-that-could has officially been axed by one of the internet’s biggest search engine networks. Enlisted was dropped by Fox earlier this year due to poor ratings, but thanks to a devout fan following, Yahoo! Screen took up the gauntlet and began entering into negotiations to save the show.
Yahoo! seems to be in the business of making the internet’s dreams come true — they announced they’d be reviving Community for its sixth season after the show was cancelled by NBC — but, alas, not every cult comedy gets a second chance. Talks to host Enlisted’s second season on the start-up network began in July but according to TV Line, a deal fell flat after budget issues couldn’t be resolved. Unfortunately, it looks like there are no other networks courting the show, so this may just be the end of the line for the Hill brothers.
