The second season of You’re the Worst will air September 9 on its new home at FXX. Throughout the first season, the main characters made some poor life choices with hilarious results, and we thought now would be a good time to reflect on the gang’s… poorer choices.
Becca Acknowledging Jimmy Post-Break Up
Oh sure, Jimmy is the bad guy for causing a scene at Becca’s wedding and providing guests with his dick pic, but who invites an ex to their wedding? Or tries to hook up with said ex again?
Jimmy Spying On Gretchen’s Parents
After finding out that he was being hidden from Gretchen’s parents, Jimmy thought it would be best to introduce himself and tell the parents of their daughter’s true nature. It did not go well. This is not an indictment of Jimmy’s disguise, however. Comically large mustaches are a fantastic idea.
Wiring Your Jaw Shut Unnecessarily
In an attempt to impress her husband and fit in with her new crowd of friends, Lindsay takes an extreme dietary measure and wires her mouth shut. As everyone around her pointed out, it’s a terrible idea to wire your jaw shut just to fit in.
Sideswiping A Cop Car While Drunk
Where to start here? There’s driving while drunk, and texting (it’s like all the driving PSAs in one act), leading to the smashing of a cop car. However, trying to flee the scene while the officer was still inside staking out may have been the cherry on top of this bad decision sundae.
Serving And Drinking Trash Juice
One or the other, Vernon. Trash Juice is too powerful a libation to resist.
More Advice
One season later, and hopefully wiser, Jimmy and Gretchen have decided to give us some life advice. Let’s see if it’s any better than what we would have gotten last season.
