At NYCC WB Games revealed the identity of yet another Batman: Arkham Origins assassin, and hoo boy, this one’s an obscure one. The latest assassin is — The Electrocutioner. Yeah, I’ve read thousands of Batman comics and have no idea who this is, but hey, see what I did with this post’s title? Electrifying? Electrocutioner? Wordplay like that is why I get paid the big bucks. [Checks my bank account] oh…right.
For some reason the Electrocutioner trailer hasn’t been officially uploaded online yet, but here’s a pretty decent version taken off-screen at NYCC…
So we’re now up to seven officially confirmed (and not so officially confirmed) assassins — Bane, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Firefly, Copperhead, Lady Shiva and The Electrocutioner. Anyone else getting a real strong early-90s vibe from that list? Is Chuck Dixon secretly writing this game? We’ll know for sure if the final assassin turns out to be King Snake.
In other news, there’s going to be a Batman: Arkham Origins iOS game. The iOS game will be separate from Metroid-esque platformer coming for the 3DS and Vita — it instead appears to be some sort of simple brawler/fighting game developed by the Mortal Kombat team at NetherRealm Studios.
