Awesome Costume Monday, Part One

There were a ridiculous number of awesome homemade costumes this year, so I’m doing a couple posts with just a small selection of them.  Also, it’s the day after Halloween, so I and the empty bottles scattered around my despair chair need an excuse to post a bunch of pictures and videos instead of typing a bunch of exposition about some terrifying new robot or sure-to-be-disappointing movie.  Also, I don’t know if I used “exposition” correctly there and I can’t be arsed to look it up.  HALLOWEEN!

These store-bought costumes are getting better every year. [via]

“Kris Butiong and his girlfriend Thanh Phamdo dressed as Russell and the house from Pixar’s Up. It was made from balsa wood, foam core, and foam sheets. 60+ hours were spent on the house.” [via]

“Gabe Dikel is a creative artist/painter/filmmaker living in Brooklyn. In a sudden flash of creativity, he saw himself as a Che T-shirt, and with the help of his brother, a piece of cardboard and some orange and black paint: Voila! Everyone wanted to wear him, as is illustrated in these pics.” [via]

Guess who went as himself.

Pfft. This Pokemon is officially too mainstream. [via]
